About Ohio Layers

Ohio Layers is an independent project run by one person. It is not part of any government agency, and none of the agencies it cites run or review it. Answers cover Montgomery and Greene counties, Ohio.

Each answer shows its rule and source, and when its data was updated where the source gives one. Open a line's rule to see them.

The burn answer uses the open burning rules in the Ohio Administrative Code, municipal boundaries from OGRIP, the Montgomery and Greene County corporation lines, Census Bureau places and populations, the Census Bureau geocoder for typed addresses, AirNow air quality advisories, and fire department contacts copied by hand from each department's page.

The spills answer uses spills reported to Ohio EPA and Greater Dayton RTA bus positions. The map is drawn with Protomaps from OpenStreetMap data.

We don't save or log the questions you ask. A typed address goes to our server and the Census Bureau geocoder to find the spot; it is never put in the link or stored in your browser. No account, no cookies, no analytics.
